No surprise, my three-year-old, Kian had a great time on his first visit to Legoland California, which is located in Carlsbad, CA.
What toddler wouldn’t? A place full of Legos and churros.. umm yes, please!
I wouldn’t say this amusement park is the best for adults. But our focus, like so many of you on these types of outings, is our children and making sure they explore and have fun in the process. So, with that, we were successful! Kian was happy:)
Although we didn’t ride any of the rollercoasters. We did, enjoy most of the activities for 3-year-olds, woohoo!
Kian and Mailey raced LEGO boats on a long water table. This was fun, Kian couldn’t get enough of it. And I kept racing down to get more boats not only for Kian but for all the other children alongside him that were enjoying this as well.
This is very cool for all ages. There are lots of mini displays of certain states and landmarks, all made out of Legos of course! You can see San Francisco, New York, New Orleans, Las Vegas, Star Wars and more!
Kian really enjoyed looking at all the cool creations.
Lego Building Stations
There are a few places around the park where children (& adults) can pick up Legos and create! Kian had a blast at these stations! Mailey enjoyed herself here too 🙂
There were photo opportunities with characters from the Lego movie throughout the park and Kian didn’t waste any time making friends.
And of course, mom and dad jumped at the opportunity to take a million other shots of Kian just doing his thing at the park.
Isn’t that what it’s all about? Not the pictures but seeing our children enjoy, experience, and marvel at things.
Safari Trek Ride
Kian and his best friend and amazing sister, Mailey, rode a Jeep through a safari filled with cool Lego animals. My husband and I rode it too, alone (two adults can’t ride together). It was a nice little break from walking.
Hideaways Play Area
This was great! Mailey, my husband and I got to rest while Kian released some of his supercharged never-ending energy. He had such a blast playing here; climbing ladders, going through tunnels, going down slides and running wild.
As you can tell, our trip to Legoland was very chill but very nice. Kian really enjoyed himself. That old saying, “When my kids are happy, I’m happy” held true here.
Legoland California is located at One Legoland Drive, Carlsbad, CA 92008 and it is generally open Monday- Sunday from 10am to 5pm (this does vary a few months out of the year). Ticket prices vary depending on single-day admission, anytime admission (you visit on any day that you’d like), pick a date (you can only use your ticket on a day that you preselect), hopper ticket (Legoland & Sea Life Aquarium), annual pass, and other options some of which include the Water Park as well. So I’d urge you to check out their website for prices, exact details, and up to date information.
I’d like to mention that we visited the park on two consecutive days. On the second day, we visited the Sea Life Aquarium as well. The aquarium is literally next door to Legoland (same parking lot, same walk up to the ticket lines).
The aquarium is very small. We probably went through the entire thing in 30 minutes and that was with us lingering a bit. So, I definitely would not recommend a trip to Carlsbad, CA just to visit the aquarium. But as a package deal, which we purchased, it’s a nice little add-on.
Our relaxing, weekend getaway as a whole, was a nice break from the norm. I hope that you and your little ones find your day at Legoland California as easy going and as fun as we did.
